Global Warming By: Chris, Brad, and Travis

Global Warming is the warming of the earth due to the increase of heat trapping greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This increase in clouds that are trapping the heat is caused from excess pollution. Experts say that humans are the cause of 90% of Global Warming throughout the world. Many people believe that this is just the natural warming of the earth, but there is scientific evidence that points to an increasing amount of greenhouse gases.

The purpose of this blog is to introduce facts about global warming so that you can make an imformed decision in regard to the existance of the theory.Chris: ConsBrad: ProsTravis: Factsbrad-

Is the theory right???
Global warming (climate change) has been caused by human beings through the high emission of so called greenhouse gases (mainly carbon dioxide). Carbon dioxide is inevitably emitted when fossil fuels (coal, natural gas or oil) are burned. The debate continues and the big question that is on everyone’s mind, is if there are any substances behind the global warming theory, or rise of the earth’s heat, was a cause by the global warming theory?
1. In the beginning, the Earth's atmosphere contained very little oxygen (less than 1% oxygen pressure).
2. About 75% of the annual increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide is due to the burning of fossil fuels.

3. Global warming, or climate change, is a subject that shows no sign of cooling down.
This is not good for the earth becasue if we keep on loitering and using electricity we will blow up the earth

The Facts Supporting the Theory

Svante Arrhenius (1859-1927) was a Swedish scientist that was the first to claim in 1896 that the gases that we produce everyday would one day lead to the warming o the earth.
But these scientific facts are ignored by many people who believe that this increase in tempature is just taking its natural path back from the ice age. Natural reasons will always affect global warming, However, human activities are significantly increasing the concentrations of greenhouse gases, mainly CO2) in the atmosphere, resulting in global warming.

In this post I will present information that supports the theory that this isn’t a normal temperature increase, and you will know what you can do to prevent this.

Global Warming is true, just look at Antarctica. The ice is melting where the polar bears sleep and eat. It is melting at a rate of 15-20 centimeters a day meaning they will soon run out of solid places. Another example is of the pollution we are giving up from cars, trucks, all type of vehicles, or anything that uses a motor. They are giving up pollution and it is destroying our O-Zone layer which keeps some of the sun out.

. Higher sea level leading to flooding of low-lying lands and deaths and disease
• Deserts get drier leaving to increased dryness
• Changes to farming production that can lead to food shortages.
• Water shortages in already water-scarce areas.
• Starvation, malnutrition, and increased deaths due to food and crop shortages.
• More extreme weather and an increased frequency of severe and catastrophic storms.
• Increased disease in humans and animals.
• Increased deaths from heat waves.
• Extinction of additional species of animals and plants that need lots of water.
• Loss of animal and plant habitats.
• Increased emigration of those from poorer or low-lying countries to wealthier or higher countries seeking better (or non-deadly) conditions.
• Additional use of energy resources for cooling needs.
• Increased air pollution.
• Increased allergy and asthma rates due to earlier blooming of plants.
• Permanent loss of glaciers and ice sheets.
• Increased acid in rainfall.
• Earlier drying of forests leading to increased forest fires in size and intensity.

Most of the global average warming over the past 50 years is very likely due to anthropogenic GHG increases and it is likely that there is a discernible human-induced warming averaged over each continent (except Antarctica).
-Michael Oppenheimer

I predict that in the coming years, there will be a growing realization among the global warming research community that most of the climate change we have observed is natural, and that mankind’s role is relatively minor.
-Roy Spencer

In conclusion, Global Warming is major and serious thing that should not be ignored in our nation, or the world. As you’ve seen from my blog, Global Warming is no joke. There are real examples like the melting in Antarctica, the increased numbers in forest fires from the dryness, and the increase of pollution from cars. These are all problems we can fix, but we need everyone's cooperation. So as you see, Global Warming is very serious, read on to see the cons of the situation.
